Moons, also known as natural satellites, orbit the planets in our solar system. In this lesson, we will show you how to draw a simple moon orbiting a planet using basic shapes like circles ovals and arcs.

Draw a large circle to represent a planet.
Enclose the planet with an oval shaped line with a gap for the orbit.
Draw a smaller circle above on the orbit to represent the moon. If you like, you can now add additional moons and show their orbits around the planet. Make each moon and orbit slightly different in size.
Draw a series of arcs covering the whole planet.
Color and complete this amazing astronomical art!
