Draw a big circle at the middle of the page. This will form the lion’s head.
Outline an irregular shape beneath the head using a long, curved line. This will form the lion’s body.
Draw the lion’s face. In the big circle, sketch a wide “U” shape and connect the tops with a series of short, curved lines that meet in jagged points.
Draw the lion’s legs. For each leg, extend two parallel curved lines downward from the body. Notice that we only draw three legs here, as one far rear leg is hid by one near front leg. Connect the lines on the bottom using a curved line. Then, draw some rounded “M” shaped line across the front of each foot, indicating the toes.
From the hips, extend a pair of curved lines, allowing the lines to meet in a point. Draw a teardrop shape below this point. This forms the lion’s tail with a tuft of fur at the end.
Erase the guidelines from the body.
Draw a dot for each eye, and leaving a tiny speck uncolored to indicate the shine of the eyes.
Draw a half circle and shade it as the nose. Beneath the nose, sketch 3 short lines meeting at a point to from the lion’s mouth.
On each side of the mouth, draw long, curved lines to indicate the whiskers.
Add some raindrop dots on the lion’s body to detail the fur.
Color you lion!
