How to Draw a Woodpecker

A woodpecker is a bird with a strong bill and a stiff tail, which climbs tree trunks to find insects and drums on dead wood to mark territory. You can use this printable guide to find out how easy it is to draw a woodpecker!
Step-by-step Guide

Start by drawing an almond shape to form the woodpecker’s body.
Sketch a smaller almond shape inside the first one. This is the wing of the woodpecker.
At the top right side of the bigger almond shape you can add a perked up mouth. Draw a raindrop shape as the brow and a curved line to separate the head and the body.
Add the eye and a pupil.
Add the feathered tail at the lower left of the woodpecker’s body.
Draw the feet at the right side of the body.
Sketch a tree stump with a hole made by a burrowing insect larva or worm in wood.
Erase the guide line on the tree stump.
Add texture details to the woodpecker and also the tree stump.
Color the woodpecker with the colors you like.
