How to Draw a Shrimp

A shrimp is a small shellfish with long legs and a long body that has a hard, shell-like covering called an exoskeleton. There are many kinds of shrimp all over the world. Here you can start drawing a shrimp by following these ten steps in sequence.

Note: Click on any image below to view this guide in gallery mode.

Start by drawing an almond shape, forming the head of the shrimp.
Draw a series of reverted U shapes on the tip of the head. Extend two slightly curved, vertical, parallel lines from the bottom of the head, forming the shrimp’s body. Enclose the bottom of body using a series of jagged, “U” shaped lines.
Draw double “V” shaped lines on each side of the shrimp to form the arms. At the end of each arm, enclose a pie shape taking out one slice, forming the shrimp’s front pincer.
Draw a vertical wave line on right side of the body line to outline the shrimp’s back. Extend a curved line from the bottom of the head to the bottom left of the body. Add some sets of double short curved lines to indicate more details.
Draw the short legs. These are sometimes called swimmerets or pleopods, and the shrimp uses them to swim. Then add some short curved lines on the tails to highlight more details.
Erase the guide lines on the body and between the head and the body.
Draw the rounded eyes and a flat “V” shaped mouth.
Extend two long curved lines as shrimp’s antennas. These are used for feeling and sensing things. And you can also add more details on the head and the body.
And some wavy lines around the shrimp indicate some water.
Color the shrimp and also the water.
