How to Draw a Feather
Feather is one of the horny structures forming the principal covering of birds, consisting typically of a hard, tubular portion attached to the body and tapering into a thinner, stemlike portion bearing a series of slender, barbed processes that interlock to form a flat structure on each side. The following six steps will show you draw a feather.

Draw two slightly curved and almost parallel lines that are close to each other, and the ends of the two lines meet. This is the rachis.
Draw the left edge of the feather with a series of serrated lines.
Draw the right contour of the feather in the same way.
Extend short lines from the rachis indicating the details of the feather.
Add more short lines.
Color the feather.
