The duckweeds (genus Lemna) and related genera of the duckweed family (Lemnaceae) are the smallest flowering plants known. Individual plants consist of a single, flat oval leaf (technically a modified stem) no more than ¼ of an inch long that floats on the surface of still-moving ponds, lakes, and sloughs. Draw two duckweed leaves.
Two more duckweed leaves.
Another two duckweed leaves.
Start to Draw the roots. Note: Unlike most plants, duckweed roots do not show secondary growth or branching, and do not sprout root hairs.
Draw another two roots.
Two more roots.
Add the root caps to the end of the roots.
Color all these duckweed plants with green.
