How to Draw a Bird

Do you know some interesting facts about bords’ colors? Camouflage colours help to hide the bird, and bright colours identify the bird to others of the same species. Often the male is brightly coloured while the female is camouflaged. Today, I will show you how to draw a colorful bird.

Draw a circle first, which will form the bird’s head.

Extend a long curve from the left side of the circle and connect it to the other side of the circle to form an irregular shape that becomes the body of the bird. Draw two more curved lines inside the irregular shape, which will help to outline the wings and belly of the bird.

Draw a “>” shape at the top right of the circle. That is the bird’s mouth. And draw three inverted V shapes at the top left of the circle to form the crown of the bird’s head.

On the right side of the bird’s body, extend two outward curves, and then draw a series of curves connecting the two ends to make it look like an umbrella, which becomes the tail of the bird. The draw three short curves inside the umbrella to highlight the texture of the tail.

Draw two short lines down the bottom of the body and extend three short lines from the each, which will from the bird’s claws.

Draw a circle on the head of the bird to form the eye, and a smaller circle inside, then shade between the two circles to form the pupil. Draw a slightly larger circle outside the pupil to highlight eye details.
